Dr. Alejandro Segura-Mora is facilitator, speaker, and founder of Mind Growers, a consulting organization dedicated to helping schools close the achievement gap. He is also the creator of “Ready, Set, Goals,” a highly energetic and motivational student assembly experience aimed at helping youth take charge of their own learning, their lives, and their destinies. He is a graduate of Claremont Graduate University where he earned his masters and doctorate degrees.
Alejandro has served as a school teacher in the public school system for 14 years, many of them in Los Angeles County. With over ten years of experience as a professional developer in the fields of school reform, curriculum, assessment, and instruction, he has assisted many school teams in improving the inner and outer games of student achievement — mind set and skill set.
His areas of expertise are quality instruction for English language learners, unpacking state standards, backward planning (lessons, units, professional development, and strategic planning), and instructional coaching through use of the Understanding by Design framework and the Cognitive Coaching model.
