Dr. Terry Ross

Terry has served as a leader in urban schools at all levels. He served as an elementary school principal, middle school principal, and associate superintendent and most of all a teacher and coach. Terry is an EPIC award winning principal who specializes in systems that creates thriving urban literacy environments. He also specializes in structures and process that engage learning communities at an organizational level so as to aid in building the capacities of staff to share and learn at an authentic level; which ultimately leads to school wide change and high levels of student achievement.

Terry has started schools as well as turned schools around. His focus on urban literacy deals with teachers and schools creating language rich environments as well as print rich environments. His back ground in teaching students with learning disabilities has equipped him with a “you can” attitude for all children. He has worked with schools and administrators all over the country in areas such as, building PLCs, Urban Literacy, Vocabulary Development and Early Literacy for beginning readers.
