Tina Boyle

Tina Boyle, MS in Education Administration and Doctoral Candidate in the Urban Education Doctoral Program at the University of Milwaukee, brings years of experience as a teacher, facilitator, presenter and trainer. Tina worked for ten years in the Milwaukee Public Schools as a middle school and K-8th grade Reading, English and Social Studies teacher and a High School Business teacher. During her tenure as a High School teacher, she worked as the afterschool Academic Coördinator for the Community Learning Center providing academic resources, support and strategies for students participating in the Sherman Park Initiative. Shortly, thereafter Tina began working in one of the nations most Cutting Edge High School Reform Initiatives in Milwaukee, WI at TALC New Vision (Technical Assistance and Leadership Center) a Bill & Melinda Gates Intermediary. This 17.25 million High School Reform Initiative grant supported work with over fifty small high school teams of innovative school leaders opened over forty schools and currently has sustained thirty-four innovative schools. Tina served in multiple roles where she directly coached and provided technical support for ten school teams as the Small Schools Development Coach and managed over twenty schools and programs as the Grants Program Manager and Co-Director.

Tina worked within a K-8th elementary school providing coaching support for the teachers and the principal. Currently, she provides coaching support to pre-licensed teacher candidates through modeling best practices classroom strategies. In her numerous coaching roles, she has utilized reflective practices to examine student work and data for school evaluation and improvement.

Tina is a National Facilitator for COMP (Classroom Organization and Management Program), a research based classroom curriculum with proven results. Also, she is a National Faculty Member for the Buck Institute for Education the premier leader in Project Based Learning. Other nationally recognized facilitator training includes Critical Friends Facilitator– National School Reform Faculty and Temperament Intelligence Facilitator. Tina incorporates and utilizes these best practice tools to provide engaging and interactive workshops for school improvement through fundamental instructional strategies.

Tina co-authored an article published in the Urban Education, March 2008, entitled “Havens of Hope or the Killing Fields” examining the aspects of urban schooling and leadership.
